Internet Explorer, Stack Over Flow, Runonce

I got a problem browsing my office intra application using IE8. It keeps saying about “stack over flow” etc etc. Googling it around I found that it’s something about IE8 compatibility. So I decided to rollback to IE7.

New problem happened when the browser bypass my homepage and go to runonce.msn.com and I got an error message “object doesn’t support this property”. Bad!

A quick solution by Microsoft:

1. Copy this line:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

“RunOnceHasShown”=dword:00000001

“RunOnceComplete”=dword:00000001

2. Paste it into a notepad and save it as “runonce.reg” or whatever name as long as .reg is there.

3. Exit notepad then double click the .reg file. It will ask you to confirm.

Now try opne IE7 again. The “runonce” should not be there anymore.

Internet Explorer 8 is very good because it is as stable as Opera. I hate the previous versions of IE like IE6 because it hangs frequently. ~
